Koukkoulia is  at an altitude of 700 meters where it is met with the Arachthos river with its magical waters creating a picturesque landscape.

At the foot of western Tzoumerka (2,469 m) is the egg-shaped mountain of Tzouma. Two villages are hosted at its root, the Tzoumochoria, Graikiko lies in southeast and Koukkoulia or Koukkouloulista in the northwest.

There the clear blue sky and the green vegetation blend imperceptibly. The inhabitants here believe that this beautiful composition is a gift of God. There are rock masses, forests and bushy green vegetation. Juma’s shades change at times of the day.The alteration between sunrise and dawn is dramatically coloured. The central church is the church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary built in 1899 in the place of the old small temple whose the wonderful carved wooden iconostasis is preserved in the church of Agia Paraskevi in Graikiko.
