Rafting in Arachthos

An easy rafting route ideal for beginners. However, the route has continuous ripples, intense turns and passages of 2nd and 3rd grade. It starts from the Politsa bridge at Ambelochori and crossing the most beautiful part of the river it ends at the bridge of Plaka,. In the middle of the route, we temporarily switch rafting  for swimming under the waterfall of Klifki. The entrance to the narrow gorge of Arachthos is imposing with vertical slopes of 700m. On the rafting route we find springs splashing through rock slopes, waterfalls running from high up into the river, and rare species of birds nesting on the far end of the gorge. Exiting the gorge the tallest one-arched bridge of Greece, the bridge of Plaka looms.
